How it works
recover gear box (rgb)

HOW TO ATTACH RGB TO YOUR SPARE TIRE

1.
Line up RGB so it’s centered on the tire and does not touch the backup camera if you have one.

2.
Look through RGB’s holes and find 2 sets of 2 vertical-ish holes that are further away from holes (further from center) in the rim (between rim spokes). Remember the 4 holes for later. If you have a backup camera, do not put the straps over the camera hole in the center.

3.
Feed the straps through the top 2 RGB holes and secure them with Velcro® straps.

4.
Put RGB close to the rim, feed the straps at the top through the 2 top spoke holes, behind the rim, down through the bottom 2 spoke holes, and then through the bottom 2 RGB holes.

5.
Push against RGB, feed the strap through the ratchet wheel, and pull it through so you can start ratcheting RGB down.

6.
Insert the hitch lock (sold separately) into the hitch-lock hole.

7.
Tighten the ratchet straps so RGB doesn’t move and is still centered on the tire. You will have tighten slightly after driving. Do not overtighten. Feed the excess strap back through RGB

8.
Secure gear inside RGB using pieces of Velcro® straps.

9.
Your gear should start looking like this.

10.
Close the lid and lock it.

11.
If you left part of your recovery strap out the bottom, attach it to a recovery point with a “D” shackle.
SECURING YOUR GEAR
1. Secure RGB using both ratchet straps through the rim only. 2. Secure your gear using a piece of Velcro®. Feed it through two holes in the back and then wrap around your gear.
